Today is getting off to a very slow start. Mike’s work for today was cancelled by text at about 4:30 this morning, he only spotted it as he headed out the door. My regular Zoom call with my friend (also a coach) has been cancelled as she’s not feeling too well. My afternoon coffee and catch-up cancelled due to an unexpected invite to a board meeting. There seems to be a bit of a trend kicking in here.
Luckily my appointment at the doctors wasn’t cancelled and this time round I managed to give up two lots of blood and not pass out. After that the lure of tea, toast and the end of my book proved too great and so here I am starting work in the afternoon. Is this normal, no. Is it ok? Not if I make a habit of it but then it is one of the joys of being self-employed and as I did so some work on the Bank Holiday yesterday I’m feeling ok-ish about it.
We have made some progress on our joint plans over the long Bank Holiday weekend. This is one of the bits I can’t share in full detail yet as it involves others. However I can say that we started the weekend with a list of possibles and that has been reduced by over half so that’s good progress. We took time off to spend together and to relax. That is so important in this busy world we live in and with some aspects of my work being really easy to pick up and do at any time it’s not always easy to leave it completely behind. I’m pleased to say that I did until yesterday afternoon when our walk was cut short as Mike’s cold had got a bit worse and rather spoilt the plan. When we got back I picked up the laptop and did a few bits and pieces.
With it being half term and so many people that I know being away or on holiday at home I think I’m going to struggle to get going again this week and as we only have a couple of days of it that really won’t do. So time to knuckle down and make some progress.
Time, I think, to share some of the notes I’ve been making over the last couple of weeks and to explain a little about what is going on for me at the moment. Why the reflection?
