Monday 23rd September

I wonder how many people joined my diary posts at the beginning and expected me to carry out a few exercises and then know what my direction would be? If I’m honest I really wasn’t expecting it to take as long as it is! What I’m realising is that at this point in my life I have lots of directions that I would like to follow and I’m not in a hurry to discard any of these options. I’m on the search for a varied and interesting life and that may mean that I appear, to some, to flit from one thing to the next. From the work I’ve been doing looking at myself and how I function best and most naturally it is not coming as a surprise to me that this way of being is appealing to me.

Recently I’ve been working my way through The 3 Word Rebellion by Michelle Mazur. This book was recommended by a fellow coach to help on the business side of life. There are several free writing exercises and I’ve found them to be really interesting. The book assumes that you are starting out with a purpose, a mission, that you need to clarify and build a message around. I have found that if I can let go of that assumption and still carry out the exercises it is providing me with some very thought provoking information.

Prompts like:

“What are you rebelling against?”
“I want to live in a world where…”

have led to an emotional outpouring that I didn’t realise was in me. I’d highly recommend taking some time out do do some free writing of your own on these topicis to see what comes up for you.

N B.
Free writing is simply the process of sitting down with pen and paper and writing around the given topic without editing your thoughts, just writing what comes up for you.

Some of the headline topics coming up for me have been: waste (especially time), compassion, consideration, contentment, and positive impact.

What next on my journey of discovery I wonder?

About Clare Wildman

YES! I’ve found my purpose in life and it’s to help others to change their life. At some level I’d always known that, I just didn’t know how. Guess how I found out? That’s right I went to a Life Coach and found that coaching was the answer to my own life change and that of others.
